Summertime Sewing

I used the pattern Hoop Quilts by Anne Marie Chany of Gex X Quilters.
http://www.genxquilters.com Her flag version is on her blog. Fabric for the flag in the hoop is Gingham Girls by Amy Smart. Such a creative idea and fun to make.

Couldn't resist sewing a patriotic table topper using Gingham Girls fabric. The pattern is Baby Blocks by Missouri Star Quilt Compnay.

Loved piecing this 27 1/2" x 63 1/2" "picnic like" table runner. Cherry Turnover Table Runner by Lori Holt with her Sew Cherry 2 collection. What an enjoyable and quick project.

Can a girl have too many bags? Guess not. A summertime tote made with Tilda fabrics. The pattern is from the book Happy Flower Quilts by Atsuko Matsuyama.

Voice in the Garden a 5" x 7" wool applique banner.  Pattern and Kit by Woolkeeper®. Available at woolkeeper.com

Hope you can find some time to sew, stitch, and create.

Wool and Cotton Finishes

Swag Bag by Sue Spargo

Pearls by Zen Chic

I participated in an Ugly Fabric Quilt Contest for an area church benefit.  This is the Ugly fabric I was given- a whole half yard plus.

Using the Tiny Wonky Stars pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Co., this is what I did with the ugly fabric.

Summer Bag By Tilda using Tilda fabrics.  Tone Finnanger is the founder and sole designer of the Tilda brand.  She lives in Norway.  I love Tilda fabrics!

Been Playing with Cotton

I discovered some lace zippers and couldn't resist their cuteness. So far I have used them on these little project bags.  Tutorial and pattern can be found at http://fortworthfabricstudio.blogspot.com/2

Quilt time has been devoted to the "Long Time Gone" quilt pattern by Jen Kingwell.  I am generally attracted to traditional fabrics and patterns, but  I am starting to get very interested in modern fabrics and patterns. So much fun to create with these bright, saturated colors. Here are some of the completed blocks on my design wall.

Hope you have found time to play with fabric!
